Description

A whole medieval town in one drag. Baileywiki Town Generator lays out walls, gates, streets, a market square, wards of houses, a castle, a cathedral and farms, then builds it in 3D Canvas and draws a matching Baileywiki 2D map underneath.

The party crests the hill and sees the city. Drag a rectangle and there it is: towers along the curtain wall, a river running under stone bridges, docks crowded with boats, a market full of stalls and shoppers, fields and haystacks beyond the walls. Want it under siege instead? Set it to Burning and watch the gate quarter go up in flames.

Shape your town

  • Sizes from a hamlet to a large city, or a stand-alone castle with keep, great hall, barracks, manor houses, chapel and stables.
  • Choose the walls, castle, market square, farms, cannons on the walls, wealth of the wards, building density, house size, storeys, street width and number of gates.
  • Paint the layout: brush Market, Rich, Poor, Temple, Castle, Park, Farm, Woods or Open straight onto the live preview. The walls follow the shape you paint.
  • Magnifier: the whole town is always generated, and you pick the part to build. Zoom in up to 300% for bigger houses, or fit a big city into a small area like a miniature.

Land and water

  • Biomes: meadow, hills, desert, snow or forest. Hills raise real terrain, desert brings sand, palms and tiled roofs, snow covers ground, fields and roofs.
  • Water: a sea coast with docks and boats, an island town, a lake with a jetty, or a village pond.
  • Rivers: beside the town, or straight through it with quays, bridges and water gates in the walls.

Intact, ruined or on fire

  • Intact: a living town.
  • Ruined: roofless shells, rubble, trees growing through houses and streets, breached walls.
  • Burning: a sack in progress, with flames along the fire front and a smoking, charred heart.
  • Burnt: charred shells, dead trees and a few smouldering smoke columns.

Dressed with Baileywiki

  • Street props everywhere: market stalls, wells, fountains, statues, lamp posts, carts, barrels, stables by the gates, laundry lines, scarecrows and more.
  • Tick Baileywiki props and Baileywiki trees to swap in real Baileywiki 3D models, with townsfolk minis shopping at the stalls and sailors on the piers.
  • Baileywiki 2D map: Baileywiki's own 2D roofs, towers, stalls and textures, with house facades from the Baileywiki Content Module as real tiles whose roofs fade when tokens go inside.

Light on your scene

The whole town is batched into a few tiles. A 120 × 100 square walled town gets an A+ grade from 3D Canvas. The dialog predicts the grade before anything is written, and lowers detail, trees and props if the scene would drop below D.

Requirements

  • 3D Canvas
  • Recommended: Baileywiki Content Module (BCM) for Baileywiki props, trees and 2D facades
  • Mass Edit for the Baileywiki 2D facades
