How to Check Foundry VTT Module Compatibility (Free Checker for v14)

Last updated October 30, 2026

System: any · Tool: FoundryMods Compatibility Checker · Last checked: October 30, 2026

Want to check Foundry module compatibility before you move to v14, without testing every module by hand? The free FoundryMods Compatibility Checker is a Foundry module compatibility checker that shows which popular modules are v14 compatible, lets you import the exact module list from your own world, and can email you a weekly or monthly digest as your modules go green. It's free for everyone, and when v15 becomes stable it will track that too. If you're planning the full move, pair it with our guide on how to upgrade to Foundry v14.

TL;DR

  1. Open the v14 compatible modules list to check the most popular modules.
  2. Create a free FoundryMods login, then click Add to my modules on anything you want to track.
  3. Go to My modules and import your world's module list with the copy-and-paste console snippet.
  4. Turn on the weekly or monthly digest to get emailed when your modules change.

1. Check popular modules on the v14 list

Start on the v14 compatible modules page. The top of the page has helpful pointers if you're deciding which modules to keep or planning a move between versions. Below that, you can scan the few hundred most popular modules and see at a glance whether each one is compatible. Want our picks of popular modules that already work? 2. Create a free login to track your modules

When you spot a module you care about, click Add to my modules. Tracking needs a FoundryMods login, which is free and costs nothing to create.

3. Export your Foundry module list and import it

▶ Watch this part: checking My modules (1:03)

Open My modules. The first time, it's empty. You can paste module names or a list, but the easiest way is to export the module list straight from your world and import it.

  1. Copy the snippet shown on the page.
  2. In Foundry, open your world and press F12 to open the browser console.
  3. Paste the snippet and run it. It copies the results to your clipboard.
  4. Paste the results back into My modules.

Active modules or every installed module

There are two snippets. One grabs only the modules active in your current world. The other grabs every module you have installed, active or not, which is the one used in the video. Either way, you get a rundown of what's compatible and what isn't.

4. Get weekly or monthly compatibility digests

▶ Watch this part: weekly and monthly digests (2:13)

Pick the weekly digest or the monthly digest, and FoundryMods emails you a summary of what changed in your module list. You can also bookmark My modules and check back whenever you like.

5. Add your loadouts

▶ Watch this part: add loadouts to your list (2:36)

If you follow loadouts on FoundryMods, you can add those to your list as well, so every module in them is tracked alongside your own.

Foundry's built-in Preview Compatibility check

Foundry VTT also has a built-in compatibility check. On the Setup screen, click the Update button in the top-right, then Check for Update and Preview Compatibility. It shows the compatibility status of each game system and module installed in that copy of Foundry for the new version. Foundry's v14 release notes point to it, and their guide to updating to a new generation of Foundry VTT explains backups and what the Minimum, Verified, and Maximum compatibility labels mean.

It's a good quick check. The FoundryMods Compatibility Checker adds a few things on top:

  • A saved list. My modules keeps your module list, so you can bookmark it and check back whenever you like.
  • Modules you're still considering. Browse the v14 compatible modules list and click Add to my modules on anything you want to track, installed or not.
  • Email digests. Get a weekly or monthly summary of what changed in your module list.
  • Loadouts. Add the loadouts you follow, and every module in them is tracked too.

What's next: v15 compatibility

▶ Watch this part: more coming, and send us ideas (2:48)

Baileywiki plans to build more on this idea of making sure your Foundry is ready to go. When v15 comes along, the checker will show v15 readiness too. If you have questions or ideas to make it better, leave them in the video comments.
